COLOMBO : The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah of Saudi Arabia has announced plans to convene an inaugural forum
focusing on Umrah pilgrimage and visits to Saudi Arabia from April 22nd for a duration of three days.
The forum is scheduled to take place at the King Salman International Conference Center, under the
auspices of Prince Salman bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, Governor of the Medina Region.
The forum will highlight initiatives and services geared towards enhancing the experience of both
international and domestic pilgrims and visitors of Saudi Arabia. Aligned with the objectives of Saudi
Arabia’s Vision 2030 framework, its aim is to draw a significant influx of Umrah pilgrims and visitors to
the cities of Mecca and Medina, while ensuring a superior travel experience for them.
The forum will bring together travel agents, Hajj Umrah pilgrimage and tourism companies, as well as
government and private sector organizations spanning insurance, healthcare, transportation, and
technology. Its aim is to showcase excellence in the Umrah and tourism industry, with a focus on
enhancing the experience for Umrah pilgrims and other visitors. Emphasizing projects geared towards
meeting traveler needs and enhancing service quality, the initiative underscores Saudi Arabia’s
leadership commitment to delivering the utmost satisfaction for Umrah and tourist visitors to the
Kingdom.
During the Umrah and Ziyarah Forum’s general sessions and accompanying workshops, participants will
exchange experiences, while various sectors and companies exhibiting aim to showcase innovative
services and products. The Ministry of Haj and Umrah will unveil new opportunities and innovative fields
of work during the event. Additionally, several joint agreements have been signed to enhance related
services and facilitate visitor travel to Mecca, Medina, and various Islamic, historical, and archaeologi
