COLOMBO: Sri Lankan embassy in Kuwait will remain closed till October 11 since 47 Sri Lankans in the mission premises have been affected by the Covid-19 virus, the embassy announced here on Saturday.
Kuwait embassy is the Sri Lanka’s third foreign mission to get affected by the virus after its missions in Saudi Arabia and Qatar
Confirming the news, a senior embassy official from the Lankan mission in Kuwait told Colombo Times, among those affected included three of its staff members and 44 workers who inmates of the mission’s Safe House.
He said the patients have been isolated from those affected and the others are self quarantined in their respective residences.
The Sri Lanka Embassy in Kuwait will remain closed until 11th October 2020 since 3 Embassy staff members and 44 migrant workers accommodated at the Embassy Safe House have been confirmed COVID-19 positive
