COLOMBO: Some 66,000 stranded Sri Lankans are stranded will be repatriated in scheduled flights from the respective countries, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Wednesday (Dec. 16).
According to a statement, flights have been allocated for a period of one week, starting from Thursday (Dec. 17) to facilitate the repatriation of these people.
Thereby, Sri Lankans are scheduled to be repatriated from Bangladesh, Japan, Singapore, Lebanon, South Korea, and Papua New Guinea.
Close to 49,000 Sri Lankans have been repatriated so far, since the global outbreak, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
