Zahira College Writers Club : 31 students publish their own books

COLOMBO — Zahira College Writers Club and Club Investiture launched 31 story books in English, Sinhala and Tamil languages on Thursday December 14, at the Zahira College Abdul Ghaffoor Hall. It was held under the patronage of Principal of Zahira College Trizviiy Marikar.

Teacher in Charge of the Writer’s Forum Shazna Aslam delivered the welcome address.

The chief guest of the ceremony distinguished old boy of Zahira College and Chief  Editor Colombo Times and Saudi Arabia Arab News Colombo Correspondent Mohammed Rasooldeen said in his speech that the vision of the former principal,Dr A M A Azeez was to create Zahira as a Radiating Center in the island. He told the students of the significance of journalism and how it would be rewarding in their future. 

Principal Trizviiy Marikar also addressed the gathering explaining the aimsand aspiration of the college and also appreciated the hard work of the teachers to help students author their own books.

Al Hikma College Principal Musthafa Mahzoor, Amra Nuzrath and Jayanika Dulanjalee reviewef the books in Tamil, English and Tamil languages.

Chief Guest Mohammed Rasooldeen pinned the badges on incoming board members of the writers forum and the Authors of  books received the certificates. Also presented certificates to the Inter School participants of the Writer’s Day winners.

Principal Trizviiy Marikar presented a token of appreciation to Mohammed Rasooldeen on behalf of the College.

Vice Principal Co-Curricular Activities Zeenath Ismail, Vice Principal Tamil Medium A. M. Mihilar, Writer’s Club Advisors Rizkhan Jaufer and Shihnaz Badurdeen, Ex Vice Principal Hijazee Mohideen, Sectional Heads, Teachers, Parents and Students were present.
