COLOMBO — Zahira College Hockey Team has been promoted to A division. The hockey Committee had organized a facilitation dinner for the under 18 hockey team in Colombo on Saturday January 13. It was held under the patronage of Principal of the College Trizviiy Marikkar.
The chief guest of the ceremony Ambassador of Indonesia in Sri Lanka Dewi Gustina Tobing congratulated the Zahira College hockey team for their achievement and presented the award to the captain of the team Shamil Kamil.
The Hockey Committee also presented a token of appreciation to the hockey team coach M. J. M. Naushad and teacher in charge Shihana Annon at this ceremony.
Zahira College prefects of discipline Muhiseen Ariff, Hockey Committee Chairman M. Z. M. Rushdie, Board of Governors Secretary Alavi Mukthar, Sports Committee Chairman Naina Mohamed, Old Boys Association President M. N. Shiraz, Secretary Nuzri Munsoor, Past Hockey Committee Chairman’s M.U.M. Azmi, Murad Amirdeen and old boys were present.
