COLOMBO — Zahira College Colombo had organized the Felicitation Ceremony for National Swimmer and National Records Holder Master M. F. Muhammad at the College Abdul Ghaffoor Hall on Tuesday July 16.
The 49th All Island Sri Lanka Schools’ Age Group Swimming Championship 2024 was held at the Sugathadasa Stadium Swimming Pool Complex from 09th to 14th of July 2024. The meet was organized by Sri Lanka Schools’ Aquatic Sports Association.
Zahira College student M. F. Muhammad became the under – 18 overall Champion Swimmer, who took part in 50m Breaststroke – Gold Medal with New Record, 100m Breaststroke – Gold Medal with New Record and 200m Breaststroke – Gold Medal with New Record. (Sri Lanka National Swimmer, Champion and Records Holder).
Principal Zahira College Trizviiy Marikar presented a memento to master M.F. Muhammad, congratulated him and said Zahira College is ready to help such sportsmen and Zahira has produced many sportsmen. Also thanked Swimming Coach Mohamed Fawaz great service to Sports and wants to produce more students in this field.
Co-Curricular Activities Vice Principal Ms. Zeenath Ismail, Senior Section Vice Principal M.T.M. ILham, Assistant Prefects of Games Devshri Bodiyabaduge, POD Consultant Muhiseen Ariff, Swimming Master in Charge W.A.S.K. Weerasooriya, Swimming Coach Mohamed Fawaz, Zahira College Sports Council Secretary Mazahir Zuhair, parents of the Master Muhammad, teachers and students were also present.
England played well to hold 1 all, but was not alert enough to cover the opponents and let loose the Spanish player to score after a neat pass by that 17 year old to finish off with 2-1 for Spain.
