COLOMBO : The members of the All- Ceylon YMMA Conference remembered its founders at a special event held under the chairmanship of National President Ihsaan A. Hameed at its headquarters on Sunday, April 30.
Th Founder’s Day celebrations was held with Dua and Salawath remembering the forefathers of th organization at the All Ceylon YMMA Conference on 30th April, 2023 at 05.00pm onwards at the Dr. AMA Azeez Auditorium.
The All Ceylon Young Men’s Muslim Association Conference is primarily a Youth and Youth serving Community based organization founded on the 30th April 1950, which has rendered yeoman service to the community over the last 73 years. The Founder was Dr. A.M.A. Azeez, who was an eminent educationist, efficient administrator, erudite scholar, visionary and community worker.
On 30th April 1950 following a meeting held at Zahira College Colombo, with 67 delegates from 17 YMMA’s, The All Ceylon YMMA Conference was inaugurated with Dr. A.M.A. Azeez as its President and Mr. Lafir Cassim as the Secretary. It was a historic day. Many leading Muslims joined and supported the movement.
The All Ceylon YMMA Conference is the premier Muslim youth Organization in Sri Lanka and continues to render yeoman service with over 175 branches island wide.
Former YMMA president Rizwan Mowlana in his keynote address said that the organization has reached a prestigious and an event position because of the interest taken by its Founders.
