World Cup T20I 2022: Scotland stuns West Indies to grab a historic win

HOBART: Another shocking event unfolded at Hobart today where Scotland beat West Indies by 42 runs to record a historic win in the ICC Men’s T20 world cup tournament on Monday,Oct.17

Batting first Scotland posted 160 runs for the loss of 5 wickets off their 20 overs. George Munsey top scored with an unbeaten 66 off 53 balls. Jason Holder bowled best for the Windies with 2 wickets for just 14 runs.

Chasing 160 runs, West Indies was bundled out for 118 runs in 18.3 overs with Sottish Mark Watt picking 3 wickets for just 12 runs and M Leask picking 2 for 15 runs. Only Jason Holder was able to hold the fort for some time with 38 runs off 33 balls. However, it was not sufficient to keep the Scottish men from recording a historic win by 42 runs.

On Sunday ,Sri Lanka was defeated by Namibia by 55 runs creating a shock wave among cricket fans.

The second group encounter of Group B between Zimbabwe and Ireland will commence at 1.30 pm on Monday (RZ)
