COLOMBO – Western Province Governor Marshal of the Air Force Roshan Goonetileke announced that a committee has been appointed to investigate the death of the grade 1 student when a structure made of concrete with taps attached to it collapsed in the Weheragoda Junior School in Wellampitiya.
He says that he gave instructions to the Chief Secretary of Western Province Pradeep Yasaratne in this regard.
The Governor stated that after receiving the relevant report within a week, necessary measures will be taken against those who were responsible for the collapse
Dr. Rukshan Bellana, Deputy Director of the Colombo National Hospital, says that another student who was injured in the accident is in critical condition.
Five. children injured in the incident are still receiving treatment at the National Hospital.
