ADELAIDE: Pakistan sealed a fantastic win against Bangladesh by 5 Wickets short while ago to enter the Semi Finals of the T20 World Cup 2022 along with India from Group 2.
Batting first Bangladesh recorded 127 for 8 wickets from 20 overs. Shaheen Afridi was at his best and picked up 4 wickets for 22 runs. Najmul Shanto fought back against the Pakistani bowlers to hit a valuable 54 runs.
Pakistan openers Rizwan and Babar Azam put together a stable opening partnership of 57 runs. However Pakistan lost both Rizwan (32 runs) and Babar (25 runs) by the 12th over and Pakistan struggled at 61 for 2 wickets in 11.2 overs. Mohamed Haris batted well to hold the Pakistan innings together. Pakistan needing 34 runs in the last 5 overs with 7 wickets in hand with Haris and Masood at the wicket. Haris fell in the 17th over for 31 runs for 18 balls. Pakistan reached the target with 11 balls remaining (128 runs for 5 wickets off in 18.1 overs). S Afridi was adjudged the player of the match.
