ADELAIDE: India tops the Group 2 with 6 points after a 5 runs win against Bangladesh are now more closer to a semifinal berth in the T20 World Cup 2022. Batting first India posted 184 for 6 wickets in its 20 overs led by a splendid innings by Virat Kohli of 64 runs off 44 balls. KL Rahul hit 50 runs in 32 balls to contribute to the Indian score of 184.
Virat Kohli became the batsman with most runs in T20 World Cup history today, surpassing Sri Lankan legend Mahela Jayawardena’s 1016 runs. Kohli’s sensational form is beyond doubt a pivotal factor for India’s success in this tournament so far.
Litton Das led the Bangladesh charge against India and played brilliantly for 60 runs. However, the rain interrupted the match and it was restricted to 16 overs and a modified target of 150 runs. The tigers lost their way after the commencement of the rain hit match with Arshadeep Singh and Hardik Pandya bowling brilliantly to rattle Bangladesh batsmen. Both bowlers ended up with 2 wickets each.
