COLOMBO : Inter-University Students’ Federation (IUSF) convenor Wasantha Mudalige, who was arrested under the Prevention of Terrorism Act, has been further remanded until January 31 by the Colombo Magistrate’s Court, on Tuesday, Jan.17.
Furthermore, the decision on his bail application will be announced on January 31, according to sources.
On Monday evening, Jan.16, there was a massive demonstration in Colombo urging the government to release Mudalige immediately. The police had to disperse the crowd using tear gas since the mob was unruly in their demonstration.
