TAIF :Sri Lankan Ambassador in Saudi Arabia Packeer Mohideen Amza took part at the Crown Prince Camel Festival, the largest camel sporting event globally, involving 60,000 camels , with line of 589 races, offering a huge award that worth SR56.25 million which currently being held in Taif . KSA.
He also met with Prince Fahd bin Jalawi bin Abdul Aziz, vice president of the Saudi Arabian Olympic Committee and president of the Saudi Camel Federation, in the margins of the event.
The salient feature of the event is the maximization of the technology, where robots were introduced replacing the riders. The owners of the camels, driving parallel in a separate driving track were also communicating with /motivating/ guiding the camels contesting using modern technology. The 38-day mega event, which started on August 8th at the 17 million-square-meter Taif Camel Square has now reached the final stage.
