COLOMBO – The Institute of Digital Media and Journalism (IDMJ) had organized their maiden event titled ‘Renewed Spirits.’ and conducted a workshop for students at the New Town Hall Auditorium on Saturday September 9.
Nearly 300 students from various schools in Colombo Central participated in the event.
It was held under the patronage of IDMJ’s Director, M. Umair Nawshad, and coordinated with Zamil Shafeek, Ahmed Shahid, and Shakeel Makeen Including with Miss. Shazeena Naushad, Miss. Shaheera and Miss Zahra from Liya Digital Magazine.
The lecture topics addressed critical issues, including depression, and provided valuable insights into navigating legal and crime challenges for school.
The chief guests of this event Dr. Irshad Jabir, an International Tax Analyst and Chartered Business Strategist and Shripal Waniyarachi, a consultant of Capital Maharaja
These advisors of IDMJ Razmi Rafeek, Dr. Anusha Edirisinghe , Director of Gender Studies at Kelaniya University , and Dr. Prasanna Dharmapriya , Criminology lecturer at the University of Kelaniya also graced the event.
The event’s guest speakers Trizviiy Marikkar, Principal of Zahira College Colombo, and Mohamed Rasooldeen, Chief Editor of Colombo Times and Arab News Colombo Correspondent addressed the students. Also Farshad Jamaldeen, CEO of BIMT Campus, and Ihsan Bary delivered lectures on related subjects.
The guests of honor Mohamed Infaaz and Usama Fazar, along with other guests Former Deputy Mayor of Colombo M.T.M. Iqbal, Ex NNCs A.R. M. Safan and M. Imashdeen and special guest Adhil Osman were received token of appreciations from Institute of Digital Media and Journalism.
The organizers also presented tokens of appreciation for print and electronic media personnel Messer’s CEO of Ask Media (Dan TV) Sham Alan, UTV Lanka Director Akram Luthifi, Head of Pirai TV Rizwan Junaid, Virakesari Freelance Journalist M. S. Saleem, ANCL Freelance Journalist Ruzaik Farook and Head of Yarl TV Shirantha Thamel at this ceremony.
