COLOMBO : Sri Lankan Majlis Qatar (SLMQ) donated over 466 pulse oximeters to the State Ministry of Primary Health Services, Pandemics, and Covid-19 prevention on Tuesday August 3.
State minister, Dr. Sudarshani Fernandopulle received them at a function held at the Ministry. Mohamed Ziyam, one of the founders of SLMQ, International Human Rights Activist Muheed Jeeran and Ramzi Azeez coordinated the project and handed over Pulse Oximeters.
The Secretary to the State Ministry, Ms. Sunethra Gunawardena, Deputy Director General of Biomedical Engineering Services Eng. S.A.J. Karunathilake and Private Secretary to the State Minister Viran Fernandopulle was also present.
The State Ministry will distribute the Pulse Oximeters to the hospitals and other healthcare institutions selected by SLMQ throughout Sri Lanka. The selected hospitals and healthcare institutions that receive the donations include

Ameerudeen Moulana, President of the Sri Lankan Majlis Qatar (SLMQ),
Doha, Qatar recalled that In April 2020, SLMQ have also donated 850 PPE kits, 100 wraparound gowns, and 100 headcovers for the frontline medical staff attached to IDH through the Ministry of Health and Indigenous Medical Services.
