Sri Lanka hosts friendly dialogue with foreign envoys from Muslim countries

COLOMBO – Sri Lanka,under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa hosted a special reception to the foreign envoys from Muslim countries at the Shangri La Hotel in Colombo on Tuesday, November 30.

Foreign minister Prof. GL Peiris welcomed the ambassadors from the Muslim countries and explained the envoys how Sri Lanka overcame the Covid Crisis which shook the whole world.

While explaining the island’s econo,mic sitituation, the foreign minister also underlined the importance maintaining cordial relations with all friendly countries to promote multilateral relations.

On this occasion, the Prime Minister had a friendly discussion with all the visiting Islamic missions in the midst of Sri Lanka’s rapid action to control the epidemic situation in Sri Lanka.

Exchange of views was held on the role of the present government in rebuilding Sri Lanka’s economy, which has overcome many challenges against the epidemic.

Representatives from Oman, Palestine, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Qatar, Turkey, Iran, Libya, the United Arab Emirates, Indonesia,Egypt and Pakistan were also present.
