CAPE TOWN: South Africa won the decisive third Test and claimed the three-match series 2-1 against India at the Newlands in Cape Town.
Set a target of 212 to win, South Africa chased down the score powered by a superb career-best 82 from Keegan Petersen. Keegan scored 72 in the first innings as well and showed class throughout the series. Keegan Petersen was named the player of the match and the series.
The world no. 1 ranked test team, India had never won a test series in South Africa.
In the Indian second innings, Rishab Pant scored a brilliant 100 not out however India was bundled off for a mere 198 runs setting a victory target of 212 for South Africa. South Africa completed a seven-wicket victory over India after lunch on the fourth day of the match.
