COLOMBO : Disruptions to the electricity supply is currently being experienced in several parts of the country, the Ministry of Power announced here on Monday evening on November 29
It said the power outages have been caused by a breakdown in the transmission line from Kotmale to Biyagama.
Widespread power outages have been reported from areas in Matara, Galle, Ratmalana, Kurunegala, Athurugiriya, Biyagama, Habarana, Pannipitiya,Panadura,Wattala and several other regions.
Meanwhile it has also been reported that the power stations coming under the Mahaweli hydro power complex have stopped generating power.
Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) says that steps are being taken to restore the power supply to the areas affected as soon as possible
