Senior Attorney-at-Law Shiraz Noordeen unanimously elected President of Colombo District Mosques Federation.

COLOMBO: Senior Attorney-at-Law Shiraz Noordeen was unanimously elected President of Colombo District Masjids Federation on Sunday` evening on Oct,30.

 The Colombo District Masjids Federation (CDMF) is the central body comprises 180 Mosques in the City of Colombo. CDMF also consists of 12 Zonal Federations.

Noordeen is the Founder and Secretary of CDMF and was also a key member, instrumental in the Formation of CDMF in 2014.

Over the last 8 years, CDMF’s ground-level network contributed immensely to underprivileged people of Colombo and other districts at the times of crisis.

Abdul Kareem of Aluthkade Zonal Federation was elected General Secretary and Feroze Mohammed from Kolonnawa Zonal Federation was elected as its treasurer.

Shiraz Noordeen succeeds outgoing President Aslam Othman, a reputed social worker.

The election of office bearers was held at the Dehiwala Grand Jummah Masjid under the supervision of the All-Ceylon Jammiyathul Ulema’s Colombo City branch.
