MESSAGE FROM ABDULNASER BIN HUSSEIN AL-HARTHI, AMBASSADOR OF SAUDI ARABIA
COLOMBO: I would like to extend my sincere congratulations to the Government and People of the friendly Republic of Sri Lanka on the occasion of 73rd Independence Day of Sri Lanka, and I take this delightful occasion to commend the distinguished bilateral relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, which are based on the principle of mutual respect and joint cooperation in various fields, which led to fruitful results such as, signing of a number of agreements and undertaking official visits in order to strengthen the bilateral relationship in the political, economic and commercial fields. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is considered as a committed partner in supporting the development projects of the Republic of Sri Lanka through the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD). Also, it has provided more job opportunities by attracting skilled Sri Lankan workers to be employed there. I have the full confidence that the incumbent Government of Sri Lanka is capable enough to lead the country towards progress and prosperity through developing all possible fields and diversifying its sources of income in future. I also look forward to strengthening bilateral relationship between the two countries. I am pleased to note that the Custodian of the two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohamed bin Salman have dispatched their congratulatory messages to the Government and People of Sri Lanka on this blissful occasion. I wish more progress and prosperity to the Government and People of friendly Sri Lanka.
