COLOMBO : Saudi Ambassador Khalid bin Hamoud Alkahtani launched the free Saudi Noor volunteer program to combat blindness and related diseases, which is organized by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center in the Republic of Sri Lanka in “Walasmulla” area, in the presence of a number of government officials in the region.
The beneficiaries appreciated the humanitarian efforts and medical programs implemented by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through the Center.
The 7 day-eye was held at Walasmulla and it will continue its services in Kattankudy in the eastern province from Sunday, Nov.10.
The two camps will conduct 1,000 cataract surgeries, 500 each from each location.
Local arrangements are being coordinated by the Association of Muslim Youths of Seilan,AMYS, in cooperation with the Saudi embassy here and the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center based in Riyadh
