Ramada’s Jaffna food fiesta starts Oct. 27 thru’  30

COLOMBO : One of the foremost hotels that launched the Jaffna Food Festival, in the City of Colombo, since two decades ago to be exact, is Ramada Colombo.

Resuming the tradition, after a lapse of two years, Ramada Colombo’s General Manager, Wasim Cader announced at a Press Conference held last Friday that they have struck up a partnership this year with Thushara Innasithamby and Danu of “My Sister’s Kitchen’ fame, to recreate the ambience of Jaffna at the Gardinia Restaurant with captivating décor complete with a traditional arch entrance and a food spread that will have some of the well-known delicious dishes that is typically Northern.

Jaffna cuisine, being an integral part of Sri Lankan culinary identity with its’ distinctive taste, authentic spices and unique cooking techniques will be on full display at Yaal Virindu Jaffna Food festival which will open its doors on the 27th of October (TONIGHT) and go on till the end of the month, (30th October) at Ramada Colombo” informed Vihangi, the PR and Communications Manager, Ramada Colombo.

The extensive food spread of ‘Yaal Virindu’ will have a combination of dishes made to Thushara’s recipes, an heirloom derived from her grandmother and the skills of Chef Nuwan, Director Culinary Ramada Colombo,, The combined menu lists out the mouthwatering dishes that includes a wide range of both vegetarian and non- vegetarian 

Speaking at the Press Conference Thushara said that she will be introducing some new items to the Buffet this time. The all- time favourite the Murunga Curry which is her signature dish and the Crab curry, she revealed being the ones in high demand, will very much be there in plenty for the guests to enjoy.

 All roads will lead to the Ramada Colombo tonight to what’s dubbed the feast from Jaffna – a Food Festival like no other, which is renowned for its gastronomic splendor!
