KANDY: Unprecedented rains in the hill capital of Kandy on Saturday and Sunday, December 24 and 25 have flooded th the
roads,settlements, bus terminals and even the Kandy Railway Station.
Residents are complaining that this year it has gone out of control due to improper maintenance of dams located in Kandy.
According to the sources, the dams should be de-silted regularly. “ that has not been done for the past three years leaving room for large volume of sediments on the beds of the dam,” they said .
