QUARANTINE CURFEW PAYS : Deaths low as 51, New patients 715 in Lanka

COLOMBO : The number people who died due to  COVID-19 infection in Sri Lanka came down to  51 fatalities, The Director-General of Health Services confirmed on Sunday Sep. 26.

The new development has brought the official death toll from the virus outbreak in Sri Lanka to 12,731.

As per the data released by the Department of Government Information, the latest victims include 29 males and 22 females.

As many as 41 deaths were reported among the elderly people aged above 60 years. In addition, 10 individuals aged between 30-59 years have also fallen victim to the virus infection.

The Ministry of Health said that another 715 persons have tested positive for Covid-19, so far Monday, September 27.

This brings the total number of coronavirus cases confirmed in the country to 514,324.

Over 46,000 infected patients are currently under medical care and home-based care while Sri Lanka’s total recoveries 455,344.
