COLOMBO : The anti-government protesters who were responsible in carrying out a successful ‘Gota Go Home’ campaign commemorated the completion of six months of their programme to send the present government home on Wednesday, Nov. 9
The protesters gathered at the Galle Face and lit candles to mark the day. The police did not allow them to go towards the Presidential Secretariat on Wednesday. They dispersed peacefully following the police advice not to proceed.
The participants include, undergrads, trade unionists, teachers and officers from the private and public sectors.
They insisted that the PTA should be abolished,release of those who were arrested under PTA and also urged the present government to go home including the President Ranil Wickremesinghe.
