COLOMBO : Decision to increase the prices of several items such as rice, flour, milk powder, gas and cement will be taken by the end of this week,State Minister of Co-operative Services, Marketing Development and Consumer Protection,Lasantha Alagiyawanna.
He made these remarks speaking to the media in Fort after declaring open the new Q-Shop outlet of the State Trading (General) Corporation on Wednesday Sep. 21.
“We will have to increase the prices to a certain extent based on the price hikes in the global market,”he added.
