COLOMBO : President Gotabaya Rajapaksa visited Anuradapura, Sandahiru Seya construction site to inspect its progress on Saturday.
Sandahiru Seya construction was started in 2010 with the patronage of then President, Hon Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa. The shrine is 85m in height and 244m in circumference.
At this place, the President had a cordial chat with the people present and the people had the opportunity to take photographs with him.
Before attending the event, the President met Anuradhapura Mayor H.P. Somadasa and former Governor of the Northern Province Reginald Cooray on the way and asked them with a smile, ‘Are you ready to contest for the Provincial Council?
