COLOMBO : Premier Mahinda Rajapaksa,who is also the Minister of Urban Development and Housing,will inaugurate Oval Residencies for public servants on Monday October 4.
The apartment complex has 608 houses, which was started on a pre-sale basis, have now been sold to the Government Officers and Government Servants, according to the Deputy Director General (Property and Land Management) of Urban Development Authority, EAC Priyashantha.
The initial estimated cost of the entire project is Rs. 5.5 billion.
The apartment complex consists of 304 houses with 3 bedrooms and 304 houses with 2 bedrooms. One house is 680 square feet and the other is 880 square feet.
This fully equipped apartment complex consists of 25 floors. It has a car park, a children’s park, two gymnasiums, a shopping mall and a swimming pool.
The apartment complex is located near the P. Saravanamuttu Stadium (Oval) in Wanathamulla.
Officers and employees who have been in the public service for 15 to 20 years have purchased these houses and they have obtained these houses with loan facilities under the concessionary payment scheme, according to the Deputy Director General of UDA.
