COLOMBO: The Mihintala-Lake House Aloka Pooja which is conducted as part of the State Poson Festival centering on the historic Mihintale Rajamaha Viharaya will begin on Wednesday ,June 23.
The Mihintala -Lake House Aloka Pooja conducted for the 59th year in succession will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa Wednesday
President Gotabaya Rajapaksa will inaugurate the Mihintala -Lake House Aloka pooja tomorrow – Poson Full Moon Poya Day.
“Devotees could observe and participate in Poson religious observances at home. The SLRC will bring you live religious programmes from the Mihintale Sacred City where the State Poson Festival takes place,” the Nayake Thera said.
Anuradhapura Government Agent Wanninayake said that the attendance of devotees at the Mihintale State Poson religious celebrations has been restricted in view of the COVID-19 health regulations. He appealed to the public to refrain from visiting the Anuradhapura Atamasthana (Eight Sacred Places of Worship) in view of the prevailing pandemic.CDN
