COLOMBO – With the extension of quarantine curfew till October 1, a fair section of the poor people in Maligawatte say that the politicians, government and social activists have let them down badly allowing them to be without the basic foods.
A section of Maligawatta, in the heart of the Colombo city, is home to a large number of poor families from all walks of life and from all faiths.
Human occupation of the people living in the small houses on the 70th Garden in the area are daily wage earners, three-wheeler drivers and labourers.
