COLOMBO : The Sri Lanka-Bangladesh Business Council of Ceylon Chamber of Commerce hosted a panel discussion on “Bangladesh-Sri Lanka Investment Opportunities & benefits of the proposed PTA” on Tuesday ,12 March in Colombo.
High Commissioner for Bangladesh to Sri Lanka Tareq Md Ariful Islam delivered the keynote address at the panel where he presented the investment opportunities that Bangladesh offers to Sri Lanka, the benefits and the potential sectors of investment.
Other panelists were K J Weerasinghe, Chief Negotiator, Office for International Trade at Presidential Secretariat and Ms. Sabrina Esufally, Managing Director, Hemas Consumer Brands. Weerasinghe spoke about the status of the PTA negotiation with Bangladesh. Ms. Sabrina shared Hemas’s success story in Bangladesh and their insights about doing business in Bangladesh.
The panel was moderated by Nisthar Cassim, Editor of the Daily FT.
Representatives of Sri Lankan business community attended the panel. The panel also included a Q&A session where the participants engaged with the panelists putting up various business queries. The fellowship indicated strong interest in the Sri Lankan business community about doing business in Bangladesh.
