COLOMBO : Palestine Ambassador Dr. Zuhair Mohammed Hamdallah Zaid paid a courtesy call on chief Incumbent Ven. Welivitye Sumana Thero at the Temple where The late Ven Baddegama Samitha Thero served as the chief Monk.
The visit aimed to pay respect and gratitude for the most valuable support of Ven Samitha Thero to the active solidarity waves in Sri Lanka. The venerable Thero was an active member of Sri Lanka Committee for Solidarity with Palestine and the Founder president of the Palestine Solidarity Committee of Galle which was founded by his venerable in late 2018.
During the visit Ambassador Dr. Zaid appreciated the strong voice of support for Palestinian liberation struggle held by Ven Samitha thero and expressed his gratitude for such solidarity.
Ambassador Zaid also expressed his wish for the Chief Incumbent Ven Sumana thero to Continue the voice of support from his successor Ven Smaitha thero by joining the SLPLSC and to lead the Galle Solidarity Committee as well.
In response, Ven Sumana Thero has expressed his willingness in doing so by being a part of the shield ofolidarity Palestinian People
Concluding the meeting, Ambassador Zaid recalled the quotable quote of Lathe Ven. Samitha thero when he said
” I strongly believe Sri Lanka’s younger generation will carry the flag I carried as the torch bearer of the Palestinian liberation struggle”
A photo frame of Ven Samitha thero printed along with his above saying was presented to the Chief Incumbent Ven Sumana Thero by The Ambassador of Palestine at the meeting.
The former coordinating Secretary of Ven Samitha Thero Shantha was also present at the meeting.
