Pakistan envoy pays farewell call on defence secretary

COLOMBO : The outgoing High Commissioner of Pakistan, Major General Muhammad Saad Khattak (Retd) made a farewell call on the Defence Secretary Gen. Kamal Gunaratne (Retd) at the Defence Ministry in Sri Jayawardenepura, Kotte, Thursday Sep 23.
 
During the meeting, Defence Secretary expressed his appreciation for the services rendered by the outgoing High Commissioner in enhancing existing bilateral ties between the two regional countries.

High Commissioner Major General Khattak  while admiring the culture, beauty and splendor of the host country, greatly appreciated the hospitality of its people. In this regard, he also highlighted on the importance of exploring potential avenues that could be harnessed to strengthen the country’s development drive.

The High Commissioner especially thanked the Sri Lankan Defence Secretary for all the support extended during his tenure in the island.
    
The Defence Secretary Gen. Gunaratne presented a memento to the outgoing High Commissioner as a token of appreciation during the cordial meeting held this morning.

Defence Ministry’s Military Liaison Officer Brig. Dinesh Nanayakkara and the Defence Attaché of the Pakistan High Commission were also present at the occasion.
 
The meeting was held conforming to healthcare and safety standards laid down due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
