Outgoing Lankan Ambassador in Kuwait honoured with fitting farewell functions from the diplomatic communtity and his countrymen

KUWAIT : The Ambassador of Sri Lanka in Kuwait, U. L. Mohammed Jauhar paid a farewell call on the Foreign Minister of the State of Kuwait Sheikh Salem Abdullah Al-Jaber Al-Sabah on December 29 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Kuwait prior to his departure to Colombo. 

Foreign Minister Al-Sabah, who recently assumed the office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kuwait, welcomed the Ambassador and commended the accomplishments made in regard to enhancing bilateral relations during his tour of duty as the Ambassador in Kuwait. 

Ambassador Mohammed Jauhar conveyed the greetings of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sri Lanka M. U. M. Ali Sabry and handed over the felicitation message conveyed to Foreign Minister Sheikh Salem Abdullah Al-Jaber Al-Sabah on his assumption of duties as the Foreign Minister of Kuwait. Foreign Minister Al-Sabah extended his appreciation to Foreign Minister Ali Sabry and expressed his keenness to visit Sri Lanka. 

The Ambassador expressed his appreciation to Foreign Minister Al-Sabah and the Foreign Ministry of Kuwait for the cooperation and assistance that the Government and people of Kuwait have extended to him during his tour of duty.

Meanwhile, the Dean of Diplomatic Corps Dr. Zubaydullo Zubaydov held a farewell reception to Ambassador Mohammed Jauhar to mark the successful completion of his tenure in Kuwait.
Ambassador Zubaydov praised his Sri Lankan counterpart in Kuwait for his contributions to the diplomatic community during his tenure and also thanked him for the cooperation and support he had extended to the group.

He noted that Ambassador Jauhar had worked relentlessly to serve the Sri Lankan community in Kuwait during the height of the corona pandemic and ensure their health and safety. He also made significant contributions to further strengthening ties between Kuwait and Sri Lanka during his tenure.
