NEW DELHI : Sixty-two-year-old Ramesh Bhatia’s family has been running from one hospital to the other in an attempt to get him a bed as he struggles to breathe. He is Covid-19 positive and his oxygen level has dropped to 60.
Sitting inside an auto-rickshaw, Ramesh Bhatia looks on as his wife and daughter wait to refill an oxygen cylinder outside a plant in Delhi’s Naraina Vihar.
The struggle would be long. There are hundreds of others in the line, each struggling to give their loved ones a fighting chance to survive. But, the supply is limited.
Since last night, Ramesh Bhatia has been turned away by six hospitals. No beds available, they all said.
