Oman signs MOU with Sri Lanka to strengthen two-way tourism

COLOMBO : A Memorandum of understanding was signed in Colombo, between the government of the Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, and the Sri Lankan government, represented by the Ministry of Tourism and Lands. in the field of tourism. 

The agreement was signed by Ahmed Ali Said Al Rashdi, Ambassador of Oman in Colombo on behalf of the Government of the Sultanate of Oman, and Harin Fernando, Minister of Tourism and Lands on behalf of the Sri Lankan Government.

This memorandum is part of the efforts to strengthen bilateral cooperation, further develop collaboration in the tourism sector and enhance it between the two countries. It underscores the significance of the tourism industry as a key driver of economic development. The memorandum aims to intensify tourism exchanges, promote participation in various tourism activities and coordinate efforts among relevant authorities in both countries. Additionally it seeks to bolster cooperation in areas such as investments, tourist facility management, and private sector involvement in tourism development. This includes coordinate marketing and promotional campaigns, promoting tours between the two countries, exchange tourism expertise and enhancing technical knowledge of training and qualification in the field.
