VALACHENAI : Under the guidance of President of Koralaipattu West Pradesh Sabha A.M. Naufar, the National Reading Month was organized by the libraries of the Pradeshiya Sabha on Saturday, November 26 at Ottamavadi MBCS Auditorium.
S, Ruthiran, Librarian of Meeravodai Public Library presided over the said function with Naufer as the Chief Guest.
The others who attended the event included Vice chairman AG Ameer, Honorable Members of the Sabha M. P. Jaufer, SA Anwar, R. Krubairasa , M. Kripanathan, A. L. Jasmine, M. P. Jemila, M. P. Jezima, M. I. Majeeda, Community Development Officer Smt. Uruthirakanthan, Director of Media Boram MRM Paris, representatives of Young Women’s Organization, representatives of Batticaloa Katiravan Arts Council and many social activists were present.
During this event held under the auspices of Asia Foundation, Ottamavadi Public Library, Meeravodai Public Library, Mancholai Public Library, Kathinagar, Vaganeri, Vadamunya, Oothuchenai Reading Centers were given books worth about Rs 800,000 and certificates and prizes were given to the winners of the competitions organized by the libraries.
