Negombo city is crippled with Hartal on Friday

NEGOMBO: The coastal town of Negombo was completely paralyzed on Friday May 6 on account of the island wide Hartal staged by the trade unions to oust the government and expel the president from his post.

All the shops in the town were closed and a black flag was tied. In all houses and shops to mark their protest .
Shop workers protested against the government near the clock tower in the center of the city.

Government offices were found to be crippled by without staff.. Banks were closed. Fish markets and grocery stores were also closed.
A series of protests took place at the ‘GoHomeGota’ branch set up at the Thelwatta junction in Negombo.
