COLOMBO — North East Private College’s Association has appealed to the Government of Sri Lanka to increase the foreign exchange for Lankan students to further their higher education in skills training, tourism and investment.
The Chairman of the Association U. L. M. Anas briefed the press conference at Nippon Hotel, Colombo on Sunday November 27 suggesting the Government of Sri Lanka to send the Sri Lankan students in the final year of graduate studies for internship training in the higher education institutions in the first and second world countries with employment opportunities
Also they requested to hand over the former Affiliated University in Buttala to the North-East Private Colleges’ Association for educating foreign students for higher studies in Sri Lanka and establishing Elders Home for foreigners with the support of services provided by Sri Lankan Caregivers. To implement this project, they can provide caregivers trained by the member colleges in their association.
Association Chairman Anas further said that they aim to promote education tours among foreign students to visit Sri Lanka and request the Government to appoint a special Ambassador from North East Private College’s Association to accomplish this task and said presently more than 60 private campuses and colleges of vocations diplomas in the North East areas.
Presently they have recognized training programmes on Network Engineers, Quantity Surveying, Nursing and Care Giving.
North East Private College’s Association Secretary M.R.M. Ilham, Treasurer A.R.M. Sarjoon, Director N. Kokuluthas and Director IPHS Hameed Ali were present at press briefing.
