COLOMBO: The sermon at Mount Arafa during this year, 2022 Hajj will be made by the Secretary-General of the Muslim World League,MWL, Dr. Muhammad bin Abdul Karim Al-Issa on Friday,July 8.
More than a million people from all parts of the globe including Sri Lanka will participate in the’ Standing at Arafa’ on Friday where Al Issa will address the pilgrims just before the Hajj Festival.
Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman has bestowed the honour of conducting the Jumma prayers at the Arafa by Al Essa who is the incumbent of the Muslim World League.
Abdulcader Mashoor Moulana, Advisor to the Muslim World League on South East Asian Affairs told Colombo Times: “I congratulate His Excellency Dr. Muhammad bin Abdul Karim Al-Issa for the trust that the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques reposed in him to perform the important prayers and ritual at Arafa.”
“ It is a successful choice and appreciation for a man of scholarly jurisprudence who combined Islamic knowledge with an understanding of reality at the global level, a man of the stage and an advocate of world peace,” Moulana added.
Parliamentarian representing Beruwela electorate, Marjan Faleel said that it’s a great honour bestowed on this eminent scholar who is well respected both and outside Saudi Arabia. Faleel who is in Makkah now to perform Hajj this year said it’s a great honour to participate in this year’s Haj Ul Akbar.
Sri Lanka Haj Committee Chairman Ahkam Uwais said that the pilgrims are really privileged to participate in this year’s Haj UL Akbar.
All-Ceylon Haj Operators Association president Rizmi Reyal told Colombo Times that the pilgrims are really thankful to the Saudi government and the Sri Lankan state for the opportunity given for the performance of Haj despite difficult times.
