BADULLA : Former Wayamba Province Governor A.J.M.Muzzamil assumed duties as Governor of Uva Province In Badulla on Monday
One-time Mayor of Colombo, Muzammil had served as the Chairman of the Central Environment Authority, Western Province Governor and lastly he was the governor of the North-western province headquartered in Kurnegala.
Among the guests who came to greet the new governor included, Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva and National Organizer of the Muslim Federation of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna, A.L.M.Uwais. Maha Sangha Rathna and other religious leaders, parliament ministers, mayors, chairman, Uva Chief Secretary P. Mr. B. Wijayaratne, Mrs. Sandhya Amanwala, Secretary to Governor and Officers of State Institutions of the Province also attended the event.Ferouza Muzammil, wife of the governor was also present.
“ I assumed as the 13th Governor of Uva Province. Truly an honor and pleasure to serve the people once again. I thank the Honorable President from the bottom of my heart for trusting me. Today I promise to serve the people of Uva at my best,” Muzammil said after assuming duties.
Took charge as 13th Governor of Uva Province, Muzammil said. ” Proud to be able to serve the people once again. I am obliged to thank the President for trusting me. I pledge to serve people according to my ability,” the governor concluded,
