COLOMBO- On an directive from the Prime Minister’s Officer to the Department of Islamic Affairs, a number of mosques in principal towns in the city conducted special prayers to invoke the blessings of Almighty Allah to save the country and its people from the scourge of Covid viral.
Prayers were conducted in mosques in Kollupitiya, Kurnegala town, Vavuniya,Amparai and Negombo.
The prayers were conducted in Negombo Grand Mosque,where the Mosque Chairman A.R.M. Niyas was present. The Dua prayers were recited by Shaikh M.H.M.Ismail in the presence of the Islamic Affairs Deaprtment official Azreen Nowfer. Imam I.L.M.Haniffa was also present during the simple ceremony.
