COLOMBO: Janaki Siriwardena was produced Saturday, November 5, to the Colombo chief Magistrate Court No 03 as a suspect of Thilini Priyamali’s multi billion fraud case.
President Counsel Sampath Mendis and four other lawyers appeared for Janaki Siriwardena and moved courts for bail.
OIC of Finance Fraud Unit 01, CID and other officers appeared for the Prosecution and explained the complicity of the investigation of this case.
Shiraz Noordeen and Pasan Weerasinghe appeared for the virtual Complainant vehemently objected to bail stating that if bail is granted, it will cause great prejudice to the entire investigation of this scam.
After hearing all parties, Suspect Janaki Siriwardena was remanded till 16th of November by the honourable Magistrate.
