COLOMBO| Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Sri Lanka (FCCISL) and Chamber of Tourism and Industry of Sri Lanka (CTISL) successfully signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) at a high-level meeting held on 9th January 2023 at the FCCISL Board Room, Colombo, Sri Lanka.
Under this MOU, it is expected to organize the Sri Lanka – RAK Business Forum & Trade Fair 2023 scheduled to be held from 28th July to 6th August 2023 at the RAK Expo Building, United Arab Emirates (UAE). The event will be co-organized by FCCISL and CTISL in partnership with RAK (Ras Al Khaimah) Chamber of Commerce and Industry, UAE. The ten-day event will include Ministerial Level Economic Conference, Stakeholder Fora, Business-to-Business Meetings together with a Trade Fair of over 237 stalls for Sri Lankan products and services in various sectors. The Objective of the event is to promote products and services of Sri Lanka in the markets of UAE and surrounding countries thereby enhancing the economic cooperation between Sri Lanka, UAE and Middle East.
Keerthi Gunawardane, President of FCCISL, and A. M. Jaufer, President of CTISL, signed the MOU representing the two organizations. The event was also attended by Dr. Tissa Jayaweera, Senior Advisor to CTISL / Past President of FCCISL, Dr. M. Inamullah, Former Consul General of Sri Lanka to Saudi Arabia / Special Representative of CTISL for Middle East, Mr. M. Shafeek Rajabdeen, Chairman of Rajabdeen & Son, S. Hettiarachchi, Former Secretary to the Ministry of Tourism / Ministry of Public Security, U. P. S. Pathirana, Secretary General CTISL, Tilan M. Wijesooriya, Deputy Secretary General (Actg.) FCCISL, and Donald Rajapaksha, National Organizer CTISL.
