COLOMBO : Minister Naseer Ahamed Ministry of Environment started work for the year 2023 under his leadership.
Day’s proceedings began with the hoisting of the National flag followed by the recital of the National anthem.
Addressing the ministry staff, Minister Ahamed stated “We have to achieve targets and goals in the ensuing year, if we Minister’s or state Minister’s can’t fulfil public needs we have to get out from our portfolios.”
Also Minister said we have to generate income through our institutions Such as GSMB and Central Environment Authority. “My target is to generate $1 billion in 2023 through Geological Survey and Mines Bureau.”
Minister Ahamed said “ I believe the Team of ministry can achieve the goals and as the Cabinet Minister I will give my fullest support and cooperation to achieve this task.”
Outlining the value and responsibilities in government services, Secretary To the Ministry Dr. Anil Jasinghe said : “we have to do our duties to the best of our abilities.”
