Minister Naseer Ahamed calls for funds to boost environment related programmes in the country

COLOMBO : Minister of Environment Naseer Ahamed chaired the meeting of the Funding Agencies supporting programmes held at the  Ministry of Environment Tuesday, Feb. 28.

In his opening remarks Minister Ahamed pointed out that Sri Lanka needs to move forward in getting funding from various sources for the development of the environment sector.

The minister said that there are many countries that can be followed because of their best practices.

Th meeting focused on the obstacles in the project and explored ways as to how best one can be overcome..

Development partners presented details of current and planned projects, priorities and discussed the  issues they are facing. The secretary to the ministry of Environment and Hon. Minister advised the officers to attend to solve those issues immediately.

Minister also thanked all the Agencies for Supporting the projects and programmes around the country.
