COLOMBO – The 70th Annual Meelad and Awards Ceremony was organized by the Moors Islamic Cultural Home and was held at the A.M.M. Marleen Hall, Her Highness Shekha Fathima Building Lily Avenue, Wellawatte, Colombo on Saturday November 11.
It was held under the patronage of the President of the MICH Omar Kamil.
The chief guest of the ceremony High Commissioner of Malaysia in Sri Lanka Badli Hisham Adam said that all children must respect their parents and always pray for their parents in the five times prayers is compulsory. He also said ask your mother to pray for you. Further he said that parents should give good education to children.
Student of ILma International Girls School Shahida Thassim received Best Orator award from chief guest Badli Hisham Adam. Also President Omar Kamil presented publications of MICH to the chief guest.
Chief Guest distributed certificates and gift vouchers to the students who took part the various contest such as Hifl, Oratory and Calligraphy.
Joint Secretary Ashroff Jameel, Joint Treasurer Haniffa Ishak, Marshad Barry, Rimaz Saleem , Fareen Ghouse, MICH Women’s Bureau President Faiza Jazeel and members were graced the event.
