Message from Sri Lankan Foreign Minister Ali Sabry

COLOMBO: The holy month of Ramadan is a time for self-reflection and devotion through prayer and fasting. The true spirit of Ramadan is not only to abstain from eating and drinking from dawn to dusk but to abstain from committing sins throughout this holy month.

During this holy month of Ramadan, Muslims are expected to engage in good deeds such as offering prayers, recitation of the Holy Quran, giving charity in the form of Zakath, and helping the ones who are in need.

As the holy month of Ramadan is known for sharing and caring, it is the duty of every Muslim as ambassador of Islam to advocate and practice coexistence and be compassionate to one another so that this world will be a better place to live for every human being. Ramadan Kareem.
