Your Highness, 

On the propitious occasion of the 51st Anniversary of the National Day of the United Arab 
Emirates, on behalf of the Government and the people of the Democratic Socialist Republic 
of Sri Lanka, I have the honour to convey my warm congratulations and best wishes to Your Highness, the Government and the people of the Umted Arab Emirates. 

The relations between Sri Lanka and the Umted Arab Emirates are characterized by abiding 
friendship, shared understanding and mutual respect. I trust that the close friendship and 
cooperation so happily existing between our two countries, would be further consolidated 
and expanded into new vistas of cooperation in the years to come.
