COLOMBO : The birth of Isa (Jesus) (peace be upon Him) is a miracle that has encapsulated the hearts and minds of billions of people around the world.
Prophet Isa (Jesus) (peace be upon Him), is one of the greatest Prophets and Messengers of Almighty Allah. We Muslims believe in Isa (Jesus) (peace be upon Him), as one of God’s greatest Prophets and Messengers. He is part of a chain of Prophets such as Nuh, Ibrahim, Dawood, Musa, and the final Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon them all).
Prophet Isa (Jesus) (peace be upon Him) is mentioned precisely 25 times in the Holy Quran. And his Mother, Maryam (peace be upon Her) is mentioned in the Holy Quran 34 times as a precious lady. The depiction of great miracle of Prophet Isa (Jesus) (peace be upon Him)’s birth has also been stated in the Holy Quran Chapter 3 – ‘Sura Al-Imran’ and Chapter 19- ‘Sura Maryam’ which portrays His greatness and nearness to all Muslims.
It is evident that the common principles preached amongst all faiths are love, kindness, compassion, justice, peace and tranquility. These common principles serve towards a productive and fruitful dialogue amongst all faiths, which would result in mutual respect, social harmony and cooperation on global challenges relevant to humanity at large.
